Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Listen World app (“the app”), provided by the Listen World Dev team (“we”, “us”). By downloading or using the app, you agree to these Terms.

License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, for your personal use, in accordance with the Apple App Store Terms of Service.

Automated output — important

Live translation is produced by on-device machine-learning models. Cue and Notes are automated cloud-generated suggestions and summaries. Any output can be inaccurate, incomplete, delayed, or misleading. A Notes result may stop early or be marked incomplete, and you are responsible for reviewing it before saving, sharing, or relying on it.

Do not rely on translations, Cue suggestions, or Notes for medical, legal, financial, safety-critical, or emergency purposes, or for any decision where an error could cause harm. Verify important output independently and use a qualified professional when appropriate.

Recording and consent

You are responsible for complying with notice, consent, confidentiality, workplace, school, and recording laws that apply to the people and speech around you. Do not record, transcribe, generate from, or share content unless you have every permission required in your jurisdiction and context.

Cloud features and availability

Cue and Notes require Internet and third-party infrastructure, including Cloudflare and Google Gemini. We do not promise uninterrupted availability, a particular response time, or successful completion. Live translation remains independent of cloud generation, but device resources, downloaded language assets, and iOS services can still affect it.

Subscriptions and points

Monthly subscriptions are purchased and managed through Apple. Payment is charged to your Apple Account, and a subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, subject to Apple’s applicable terms. You can manage or cancel in your Apple Account subscription settings. Cancellation stops future renewal but does not retroactively refund the current period except where Apple or applicable law provides otherwise.

Each tier includes a monthly point allocation for Cue and Notes. Points have no cash value, are not transferable, and do not carry into the next billing period. Costs and allocations shown in the app may change prospectively. Duplicate, abusive, automated, or manipulated requests may be rejected, and refunded generation points are governed by the status returned by the service.

No warranty

The app is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app or cloud services will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that generated output will be accurate or complete.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app or its translations.

Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the app, including using it to violate any law or the rights of others, or to record or translate other people without any consent required by your jurisdiction.

Apple App Store

These Terms are concluded between you and the Listen World Dev team only, and not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. Apple has no obligation to furnish any maintenance or support for the app. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple has no warranty obligation with respect to the app. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and, upon your acceptance, will have the right to enforce them against you.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the developer is established, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory consumer-protection rights you may have under your local law.

Changes

We may update these Terms as the app evolves; changes take effect when posted here with a new “Last updated” date.
